The S’LAB is booming!
We proudly announce our new corporate partnerships
The first partner supporting the S’LAB, Silox, is an international group based in Engis.
It specializes in performance chemicals and the recycling of non-ferrous metals.
It produces, recovers and markets sulphur derivatives and non-ferrous metals, in particular zinc. Its products are used worldwide in a wide range of applications, including technical rubber and tyres, pulp and paper, textiles, paints and coatings, chemicals, catalysts, polymers, ceramics, personal care and cosmetics, human and animal nutrition and many others.

Our second partner, located in Thimister, has developed over 30 years of expertise in the field of sports equipment and materials for communities. Idema is on your side, at every stage, in the construction of indoor or outdoor sports facilities, and even public swimming pools (e.g. the recently renovated Outremeuse swimming pool, in Liège).
Highly attentive to sustainability issues for years, Idema is currently rethinking its CSR strategy and training some of its staff in these matters. Welcome in the S’LAB network!

HEC Liège S’LAB and Digital Lab are joining forces
From October 2024, our two labs are joining forces on a common research project, supported by the Walloon region. The main objective of the project is to make a significant contribution to the scientific literature in the field of digital responsibility.

Kick-off on Octobre 9, 2024.
Information about the evolution of the project via our Events & News section.
HEC Liège and companies have been building a common history for decades.
These relationships of trust are reflected in various types of active partnerships/collaborations.
As a demonstration of this confidence, and in order to support the development of expertise in sustainability, some partners support HEC Liège by financing various chairs, such as:
- Eugénie Piedboeuf chair in SME’s extra-financial performance
- W. Alter chair in Social Economy
- Belfius chair in non-financial risk intelligence
- Resa chair on the role of consumers and the energy transition network
- The « prosperity and post-growth » chair

The S’LAB and the Green Office work closely together to accelerate social and environmental transition.
Our collaboration includes projects such as creating and facilitating a network of Sustainability Friends within the University of Liège, co-organizing conferences and events, and providing mutual support and outreach..

Combining our strengths with the ULiège Green Office is essential
to go on developing our students’ awareness
and their immediate action in favor of societal transition.

The S’LAB also works closely with the ULiège Sustainable Development Unit (Cellule institutionnelle du Développement Durable (CiDD)), an operational body created in 2019. It has been coordinated since June 2023 by a Sustainability Officer: Sophie Blain. The Unit has a cross-functional role within ULiège in developing and implementing the Institution’s transition strategy. It participates in the identification, design, application, monitoring and reporting of actions and initiatives in favour of sustainable development within the University, in close collaboration with the academic authorities, faculties, administrations and members of the University community. It acts as an internal intermediary between the authorities, faculties and administrations, and as an external link between the Institution and its partners.
